Astral column pipes are manufactured using bi-axial orientation — a process that simultaneously stretches the UPVC in both the longitudinal and circumferential directions, increasing tensile strength by 40–60% compared to standard extruded pipe. This superior strength-to-weight ratio allows them to suspend heavy submersible pumps at depths where conventional UPVC would creep and ultimately fail.
Pressure Rating Classes
- V4 (light duty): Domestic borewells up to 80m depth, pumps up to 1.5 HP
- V6 (medium duty): Commercial installations up to 150m, pumps up to 5 HP
- Heavy: Deep borewells up to 250m, pumps up to 10 HP
- Super Heavy: Industrial applications exceeding 250m and 15 HP pump weights

Threading System
Astral's square thread profile — as opposed to tapered pipe thread — distributes tensile load across a larger tooth contact area. Combined with dual EPDM O-rings at each joint, the assembly achieves zero leakage even at 200m submersion depth where hydrostatic pressure alone would force water through conventional threaded joints.
