Pressure measurement is the foundation of any properly instrumented water system. Without calibrated pressure gauges at pump discharge and at system delivery points, it is impossible to verify that a pump is operating on its design curve, detect developing pipe leaks, or commission a pressure booster system correctly.
Analog Gauges vs Electronic Transmitters
- Bourdon tube gauges: Simple, no power required, visual reading — essential at every pump discharge for field verification
- Electronic pressure transmitters (4-20mA): For SCADA integration, remote monitoring, and BMS systems. Output a standard current signal proportional to pressure, readable by any PLC or datalogger
